JUST TAKING IT A DAY AT A TIME.....

not much else one can do.  Dad is still about the same.  A week ago, I lost power for 2 days.  Cooked on the wood stove, put perishables in the snow bank and coolers.  Got thru it ok.  His electric faired better, just blinked on Wednesday and was off a couple of hours on Thursday.  I asked him what would he do if it went out and he told me he could back down the cellar steps and fire up his wood stove.  Be interesting to see him do that, as he has to use a walker now, or a wheel chair.  My biggest concern is finding him in a heap at the bottom of the stairs.

His neighbors have been taking care of the driveway.  One has a big snow blower on a tractor and the other guy has a blade.  His Amish neighbor, David, came over with this last storm and shoveled the deck and the walk.  I've really only had to shovel twice.

Critters are all OK.  Coco and Daisy love the snow, roll in it.  Archie?  Not so much.  Birds are eating me out of house and home.  I put nuts out for the poor little squirrel and the blue jay and wood pecker get them first.

Got a message from blogger about 'picking a browser'??????  Don't know what's up with that, and, don't have time to research it.  Might not be posting again for a while.  Everyone take care and be safe.

SOMETIMES HE'S WAITING ON SPRING, SOMETIMES HE'S WAITING ON GOD........

Been very busy here lately, but, have Dad on a bit of a schedule.  He is doing remarkably well, good days and bad days.  He gets up, dresses, makes his bed, feeds the three cats, takes a shower and gets his own meals.  We have gone to the grocery store that he loves, and, he rides around on one of the electric scooters.  I do his laundry, clean the litter boxes, feed the birds, clean his house, burn the trash and make sure there is enough cat food on hand in case of a blizzard.
The physical therapy guy is done after a month.  We all decided that since the main problem is his knees, which are bone on bone, anymore PT would not be advantageous.  However, he will continue to do the exercises to keep his legs as strong as possible.  The nurse will visit one last time next Wednesday, then she'll be done.  They've been very helpful in the transition from the home to his home.
He'll be going back to the doctors in three weeks for a shot in the worse knee.  He has had these before and they've helped for a short time.  Any relief is welcomed.
Need to order more propane.  That's gonna hurt.  A tank has usually lasted all winter, but, it's never been this cold before, and, since I haven't been home much the past couple of months, the wood stoves weren't being used, hence, using more propane.  It is what it is.
