IT'S NOT BROKE

Charlie could care less.

Elijah wants to know..duz it hurts mommee

Got in this morning to see the foot doctor, they took 3 x-rays and determined nothing is broke. I jammed the big toe and that's better than a break. It's at the achey stage now but I can get around better with the special pressure wrap and the shoe she gave me to wear. Have to ice it for the next couple of days and should be back to normal within a week or so.
I guess most people would have went to the ER but I think those people are a bunch of asses. When you walk in there with all of your appendages in tact, nothing coming out of you, whether liquid or whatever, nothing in you that shouldn't be and you're not having chest pains. They take your bp, listen to your heart and tell you to see your doctor in the morning. So, I just bypassed that step and saw the doctor this morning.
Then went to the dentist for my cleaning, twice a year 'cause I don't floss. She pulled a filling right out of my tooth. I told them it was a conspiracy to get me back in there and who's going to pay for the filling? They laughed. I was serious!
Calling for bad storms this afternoon, sure is hot. We badly need the rain. My yard is turning brown along with a lot of others.
Five people were killed in an accident last night. Three couples on motorcycles, all wearing helmets, only one lady made it to the hospital and she is critical. They can't figure out what happened, the van was hit in the front by a cycle, on the right side by a cycle and on the left side by a cycle. The van driver is in serious condition but maybe he'll remember. Such a tradegy.

STILL PAINTING AWAY THE DAYS.....

Just about got the living room painted. Three walls are done, the worst part of number 4 wall is waiting. Its at the wood stove and will be a bugger. A lot of cracks in the old plaster. I thing the stove is too heavy for the floor. I need to move it out, cut a hole in the floor, dig down, pour a footer, lay block up to the floor, then tile, then put the stove back on a really nice solid hearth, then put down a nice new floor. Or hire someone to do same. Yeh, that's a plan, 'cause I sure don't know how to do it, nor do I want to. Now, to find someone with enough brains to listen to me and do this the way I want it. That's the problem! Oh, yeh, the $%^&* ceiling needs finished also.
Went over to the Historical Society today and sat at the house of this famous person from this county with Anita. She's a real trip, 88 years young and kept me laughing the whole time. We had 3 visitors the whole day. Archie was plumb tuckered out. And, when we left, I fell down the outside steps. Thought there were two, knew there were three, fell down and remembered thinking 'this is going to hurt unless I can land in the grass' which I did. I think I jammed by big toe on my left foot that needs the surgery on the three hammer toes. It's black and blue and sore to the touch.

TORNADO WARNING

Sitting in the restaurant this evening with the gang and Bob's phone rings. It's his MIL from Philly. He handed the phone to his wife, who's eyes get all big, and she says "Yeh, OK ma. Thanks." Judy hangs up and says "There's a tornado warning, its coming right for us!" We all looked at each other and kept on eating. Didn't hear any sirens, nothing on the radio, we are such putzes. That thing could've been coming down main street and we'd still be sitting there drinking coffee. I guess in this area, there's never been an 'outbreak' of tornados or, for that matter, just a couple of small earthquakes over by the river, so we're pretty complacent. That's not a good thing.
After I got home (it never even rained at home) and talked to dad, he told me the sirens just blew and blew. I don't remember anyone telling us that when those sirens blow, it's a tornado warning. I know now. I need to prepare better and figure how to corral 4 cats into their carriers and get the two dogs and all the 'other stuff'. Yeh, I need a plan.

HERE WE GO.................

I'm not sure how old this is, 'cause I don't watch TV, but my friend that sent it to me said they checked it out and it true and VERY SCARY. Need to pass this on.
*******************************************************************

While you were watching the oil spill, the New York failed terrorist bombing and other critical crises, Hillary Clinton signed the small arms treaty with the UN.

OBAMA FINDS LEGAL WAY AROUND THE 2ND AMENDMENT AND USES IT. IF THIS PASSES, THERE COULD BE WAR

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a
Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg.. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms. The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment. This has happened in other countries, past and present!
THIS IS NOT A JOKE NOR A FALSE WARNING.
As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control. Read the Article U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better. To view the full article click on this!

IT WAS COLD, SO I CAN'T SUE...............

Went out to supper tonight with some of the gang. Sitting there, eating porterhouse steak, stewed tomatoes and cup of home made chicken corn noodle soup. HMMMMMMM. The next thing I know is I'm wearing most of my ice water and Ross is staring at me with eyes as big as my steak was. His wife Artie is speechless and his grandson Mike just says, "Boy, I'm glad I moved. I was sittin there." Ross tried to get a fly that had been bugging us, he missed the fly and upset my water. We all were laughing and sopping it up. I was holding my steak up out of the mess. Any how, they paid for my dinner and by the time we left, most of it had dried on my jeans.

Took some more books to the library and more clothes to the thrift store. Just about got the living room done. Then I think I'll start on the kitchen and 'bird room'. Then the laundry. Leaving the downstairs bedroom last 'cause its the worse.
Also called the auctioneer this week. She was so nice; I explained what my goal was and she said, "Just call us when you're ready and we'll pick it up and let you know the sell date."

AN AMERICAN GOLDFINCH

Spotted him this morning on the patio. Almost stepped on it. He flew off and landed in the maple tree. Ain't he georgous!!

HE RETURNETH

One of the owlets returned tonight. He's out in my maple tree. I guess he likes it here.

AIN'T LOVE GRAND!!

Stopped at Dad's this afternoon and he was getting ready to prime the hood of his JD620. While I stood around waiting for his mail lady I found a couple of lady-bugs doing the wild thing. I watched them for over 45 minutes and took several pics before I settled on this one.

WOW

Last night, while walking the dogs out back, I kept hearing this 'trilling' sound, not knowing what it could be, I started looking around for a hurt animal. I spied something under the maple tree outside my back door about the size of a quart jar. I quickly got the dogs inside 'cause Cleo kills everything on this acre. When I went back out, Lily escaped and it took a couple of minutes to woo her to where I could grab her. I put her in and the 'thing' was no longer there. But, I still heard this strange sound, I shone the flashlight up into the tree and this is what I saw. There were three of them, and they felt safe enough to hang around while I went for the camera.

IT'S AN UNCONFORTABLE FEELING...

I was sitting at this computer this morning, having breakfast. Played a few games of solitare and free cell, checked my e mail and it hit me. All of a sudden I felt the need to finish these projects. Do you remember when you were a kid and you told your mom you'd do the dishes and start the wash. But you got busy and all of a sudden you realize she is gonna be home in 10 minutes. That's how I feel. Now, I admit I have been dragging my feet on finishing these tasks, and I put it down to depression and not having to get up and go to work. But, this is a strange feeling and it hit me like a bolt of lightening. I didn't even go out for supper tonight. Part of it is a feeling of doom that I've not had before. I need to get rid of this stuff, finish the house and batten down the hatches. Something is in the wind folks.

AND NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY

Manure: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common.
It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen.
Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!
Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term 'Ship High In Transit' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.
Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ' , (Ship High In Transport) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

GOT MY TRUCK BACK, HOORAY

I picked up my truck today. AAHHHHHHHHHHH. Runs great. Washed it. Looks great. $1228.85. Oh well. Went for my cat fish tonight. The usual gang was there. We laughed the evening away.
Gave a big box of clothes to the clothing bank and another 4 boxes of books to the library. Decided to go at this down-sizing, minimilizing like a mouse eating an elephant, one bite at a time.

WHAT THE ......................

The cell phone rings....."Hello" "Hello, may I speak to Sharon?" "Speaking" "Hello Sharon, How are you today?" "I'm OK, How are you?" "I am fine, thank you very much. My name is John ('John' sounds a LOT like Habeeb), and we were notified that you would like to go back to school!" "Excuse me?" He repeats the statement. "Back to school!" "Yes, that is correct!" "I am 65 years old, and I hated school when I went the first time!!!!" "Oh, then you would not be interested. Thank you for your time." W T H !!!!!!!
