Well, it's soon time to send in my $3719 to the IRS. I will wait until the very last possible moment before I mail my pound of flesh. There goes my emergency fund. Not even going out to eat this week, need to put all of my money in the gas tank. Thats another thing that is pissing me off. This is getting real old real fast. Good thing I have my preps, I've been hitting them this past week. No money coming in until middle of next week.
I can sympathise with Mayberry and his problems.

I feel your pain, Sharon. We owed even more than that last year due to a clerical error at his former job ...Yeoldfurt signed up for 10 deductions and whoever read it, saw the '1' as a line through a zero and withheld as if he had NO deductions. Yup, it was a LOT more than you're having to shell out. Worst part was that he got laid off right about the same time he got the news that we owed so much. Ouch. It would have been even more stressful if we had realized his period of unemployment would have stretched 16 months. OUCH.
Sorry you're having to deal with the problem. We survived but it was a whole year ago now and the memory still makes me wince!
I wouldn't mind so much GIVING the government the money. But their track record isn't so great, and they'll just piss it away like they've been doing.
I sure as heck mind ...give or take a few cents, they get half of every dollar we generate. It's not just income tax but all the other taxes on literally everything. Even if they spent it exactly like I would choose to spend it, I'd rather be spending it MYSELF. LOL
That's oh so true. I love to barter and trade stuff. When I took out the sliding door last summer, I traded it to Archie's groomer for haircuts. Need to do more of that. I guess that would be 'Going Galt'.
