Took me longer to get there than the parade lasted. The HS band sounded good. The fire apparatus was gleaming. The veteran count is depleting. Lots of people brought their dogs and Archie was a brat. He watered every lamp post and pooped in the flower bed. Luckily, I had a napkin and was able to pick it up and dispose of it.
Couldn't respond to FRANN and BRIGID's comments about my 'blue funk'. But I appreciate them. I feel better. Maybe I'm spending too much time in the house and need to get out more often. Anyhow, this too shall pass, heh?

Now it's time to cook outside with fire!
Glad you went though, aren't ya!? Yeoldfurt had to work today. I'm off but busy with a long ol' To Do List of my own. Being a holiday though, I decided to have some fun before starting on the list. So I made 'saddle time' my first order of the day. You know how it is, when you have a list ...the FIRST THING on the list is the only thing that will for sure get done!
It was already hot and getting hotter by 8:30 this morning, so I was only in the saddle about 20 minutes. Took me longer to go get the horse and tack her up than I spent actually riding. But it was worth it. I treated her to a cool hose bath and a honey bun after the ride, so it was probably worth it to her too.
I've accomplished two little things on my list and am about to tackle the mowing. Wish me luck and cool breezes ...it's high noon and 95 degrees out there! But after the mowing, the only thing left on the list is some admin stuff. With the A/C on and a big glass of ice tea, the bookwork will take no time at all.
Tell Archie if he doesn't behave, you will start taking Cleo on these adventures. You don't have to mean it when you say it, just make him THINK you mean it. LOL
