BEAUTIFUL WALK IN THE WOODS....

Went to breakfast this morning with Jim, Trudy and Phillip. Trudy and Phillip wanted to check down at the river to see if the Rhodo's are in bloom yet. So, I went home and got Archie and met them back at their house. I beat them there, and, was sitting in the car, decided to get out and pee the little guy since he was about to meet Trude's dobie. Shut the $%^&*() door on my right thumb. $%^&*()_@#$%^&*()_+ did that hurt!!!! Then had to twist around and open the shittin' door so I could get my thumb out. Blood everywhere, but at least I didn't have to drill a hole in it. I do believe it's broke and I will lose the nail. I screwed this same thumb up about 40 years ago in a machine shop. Anyhow, they got home, she bandaged the thumb, we drove over to the site and went for a walk up the trail, the mosquitoes about ate us up, so, we turned around and came back to the car. Probably be another couple of weeks before the Rhodos are blooming anyhow.

I slammed my finger (or thumb ...can't remember) in a car door when I was pre-school age. To this day, MANY decades later, I can still tell you EXACTLY how it felt! You have my heartfelt sympathy!

Next time you go in the woods, may I suggest you wear long sleeves and Eau d' Off perfume ...Deep Woods OFF ...I think Texas is the Grand Mecca for mosquitos, especially HUMID south and central Texas. DWO is the best there is. I don't like spraying that much goop on ME, so I would spray my jeans and my long sleeve overshirt, then just spray my hands ...rub them together and pat my face and forehead. One's gotta DO what one's gotta DO, right?

WHRWH, thanks for the tidbit. We had NO idea they would be that bad. They were really tiny and were swarming. Newbies maybe. Thanks for stopping in.
